Customs prescriptions for personal & household effect's

Duty free entry provided that removal goods consists of hosehold and personal effect's which have been owned and used for twelve months or more preceding owners departure for the United States.

Documents Required:

Customs Form 3299.

Detailed packing inventory of the goods.

Customs require a complete photocopy of the importers passport (not just cover pages) in order to track the Importers movements & asses the risk.

Full name and american address of owner must be provided to obtain clearance. Please note a Post Office box is not acceptable.

You do not have to be in America to recieve your shipment but may designate a friend or relative to represent you in customs matters. You must give that person a letter addressed to the "Officer in charge of customs" authorizing that individual to represent you as your agent on a one time basis to clear your shipment through customs.
